Hi guys.  I have installed my friends LCD pager alarm that he's got off ebay. Well, the manual was not really good as well as amount of spelling mistakes there. It works fine so far, but needs some tune up. That's what I wanted to ask about. Experienced installers might know...

I had (-) dome light (door handle) trigger. I could not find where to hook up the wire but to the (-) dome light (-) wire that turns the light above the pedals when you open drivers side or passangers door (or just trigger the door handle). So I'm getting a little prob..

When I open the door Light comes on, then I close the door, Light is still ON ( car has some kinda delay, after a door closed) . I press ARM - car gets armed (light still on) in few seconds LCD beeps with DOOR notification and then bypasses that zone.

The question is... How would I fix this problem because you never know exactly Or its the DOOR still open Or it's the dome light still on..  I just want to be able to ARM the car and if light is still on there it would not give me the DOOR open notify.. Is there any workaround for this kinda problem?

Thanks in advance!

What year, make and model is this vehicle of yours ? Most systems that have a dome light delay in it require a relay or diode to isolate the current that is risdual in the door trigger wire/dome light. If your vehicle has a domelight override push switch at the headlight button then go to wire at the switch.  It bypasses the BCM and is directly connected to the pinswitches. As well, most alarms have a selectable 5 sec or 60 sec door arming delay just for this reason.  Check your manual on how to change it.

My friend got Buick Skylark 93. It does have the dome delay. Yes , you are right that alarm has 5 and 60 seconds delay which I think I tried to enable but it did not solve the situation ( or maybe it just did not get reprogrammed). But what you tell about isolating those wires seems to be the best solution. I just wanna make sure if I understood correctly. I connect

LIGHT-(+)----------------------------+12V

           \-(-)-----------|<diode|------- to the door(dome) trigger
                                \-|<diode|------to (-) Alarm output

So they are both isolated and after ARMING the car it would not still see voltage if even the dome light is on, but if a door is opened it would still see it? Thanks!
