Last night was the first night here with sub 20 temperatures.

Anyways, I get woke up for the last two mornings with a hood pin alarm...nothing is there to trip it. Also my remote start is not working as well, I can lock/unlock the car, but when I try to start, she doesn't give an RX in the screen. This works without problem though when the car is warm. Any suggestions??

when the weather is cold like that again, bundle up really good and just put your meter probe on the hood pin and see if it shows ground, and if it does not, then it is something else.

Okay, I can check that with no problem. What could be the issue with the remote start?

It won't start in the morning.

It will start once I get to work. (Warm)

It will not start when I leave work. (Cold)

It will start when I get home. (Warm)

this isn't something that it is the car failing to crank, I am not even getting an RX on the remote.

What is the car? There have already been like 5 posts about cold no starts. Most are due to ign/starter wires not being hooked up.

94 Honda Civic. This was installed by a DEI installer. I think I found the problem, the hood pin is a bit loose. This could be the problem with the cold starts as the ground is not good enough. This would explain it because it will not start with the hood open as the design. Would explain both problems at once. Will remove hood pin and see how that goes.

I see a lot of times vehicles not starting when they're cold because of voltage settings. I use the tach all the time, I don't see many problems that way

you may want to check the adjustment of the hood pin...remember that metal expands and contracts with hot and cold and it could be that the hood pin is just barely ( if at all) opening or closing when the car is cold.... you may have to adjust it for extra throw... make sure you have a minimum of 1/2 inch of throw on the switch...

and yes, as well as triggering your alarm it will also prevent the RS unit from activating....
