Hi,

I have just installed a long range (1/2 Mile) 2-way LCD Remote starter.  What I would like is to install an alarm system too (Avital Phoenix 2).  My R/S has an input for start and stop from the alarm.  It also has a factory alarm arm and disarm wires out.  I know, I can control the remote start with my alarm remote.  But then I get no distance and no confirmation on the LCD remote.  I came up with a couple of options.  So I really need your expertise at 12volts.  (I have not tried any of these, just theories).

Use a relay to interrupt the ground (-) of the alarm.  When R/S activated, power is cut off to the alarm using the Factory alarm arm and disarm wires.  But I can’t guarantee the alarm would arm itself when it received power after the R/S deactivated.

Valet ON is set by Ign. ON .  Turn on Valet switch , LED is solid, turn Ign. Off.

Valet Off is set by Ign. ON.  Turn off Valet switch, LED goes off. Turn Ign. Off.
I can use relays to turn the valet switch and Ign. On / Off
This way, the alarm zones are bypassed.  But does this work, while the alarmed?

Trigger door unlock relay within the alarm.  But does this disarm the alarm?

Find a circuit schematic for Avital Phoenix 2 alarm system.  Trace the negative circuit for triggering the arm/disarm.

Please help.  Thanks in advance.

Dennis

Okay,

I connected the alarm to a portable battery at home With LED, shock sensor, siren and an actuator hooked up. This is what I confirmed.

While the alarm is armed, disconnecting the power will turn it off. But once the power is back on, the alarm will trigger the siren.

When alarm is armed, Valet bypass cannot be set.

I managed to find the triggering relay on the circuit board.  But it’s very weird.  Maybe I just don't have enough understanding about relay.

The relay is a Song Chuan 812H-1CS B 12VDC SPDT. When the alarm is disarm, one of the coil side (Say 86) shows 12 Volts, the other side (85) shows 0V.  Common (30) is 0V.  (87)'s one is GND and the other 0V.  When it's armed, one of the (87) is GND and all other contact shows 12V.  While it’s disarmed, I connect a ground to the (85), I hear it trigger, but the Alarm LED is still lit and shock sensor is still active.  If someone can explain what is happening through the circuit, I would very much appreciate.  I understand how relay work.  But I just can't visualize this one.

What I can also do is cut off the siren and just let the alarm go while the R/S engaged.  Is this healthy for the alarm?

I'm including the picture of the relay, hope it will show.  Please give me some suggestions.  Two head is always better than one.
