Accord 2004 Ingition Cylinder Wires

Does anyone know what the green wire is for on the ignition key cylinder of an Accord LX 2004.

There is a black wire and a green wire.  

The remote starter works well, but the factory key remotes are disabled when the green wire is connected to the ignition cylinder.  When the green wire is disconnected, the factory key remotes work (as well as the remote starter remote functions).     I am told that if I disconnect the green wire, all functions will work for all remotes.

Just another note:

When the green wire is connected, the car acts as if there is a key in the switch at all times.  So, when you get out of the car, the dinger goes off (telling you that you left your key in the car)     It would be like the ByPass unit is constantly sending a signal to the key loop wire.  (key sensor).  I have had this tested and they tell me that the bypass unit is functioning properly.

  I had a code-alarm bypass unit installed.  That has now been replaced with a Viper Bypass unit.     I am told that if I disconnect the green wire from the ignition key cylinder, this problem will go away as well.   When you take the key out of the ignition and open the door, the car will no longer sense that there is a key left in the ignition.

Thank you for the advise.  I talked to the installer today. He said that sounded like a good idea.

I took the car back to the istaller.   He cut and tested the RED / white keysense wire coming from the green plug in the ignition.

He says that that when the key is in the ignition, the return wire is supposed to be ground.

When the key is removed from the ignition switch, the return wire is supposed to be positive.

The car is acting as if the key has never been removed.  So the keysense wire is showing as ground all the time. So diode isolation of the key sense wire would not help the situation.

He is now saying that the ignition switch itself is defective and should be taken back to the dealer for repair.

I find it hard to believe because it is a new car and  this problem only occured after installation of the remote starter.   I know they placed a bypass wire loop around the ignition cylinder, but that looks simple and like it would not harm the swith in any way.
