Hi, I bought a Aerostar with a remote starter already in it last year.  I think it is one of the best things ever invented.  During the summer my keychain went for a swin and the remote no longer works.  I went and bought a new remote.  The instructions seemed to be easy but I cant seem to get it to work.  The starter is Pro-Start.

The instructions tell me to: Turn the valet switch off, turn ignition on, Raise Hood, Turn Valet switch on (parking lights turn on)  (they dont), press button #1 within 5 seconds of step 4, Lights should flash 5 times quickly and twice slowly (they just flash twice slowly)

If anyone has any pointers for me, that would be great!

Thanks for any help

Jen

You should be raising the hood first before you do any of the other things. Try it and post your results.

the hood must be raised as said velocity but if you are not familliar with car starter you dont know why..

there is an hood switch that must be to ground when programming remotes.

if you dont find pin switch  find the control unit and connect the grey wire to ground.

try programming again.

Yes I'm Back 2006...
