i need to know a good place to mount my 508d proximity sensor on my 1997 4 door s10 blazer. thank you

 i would try to place it as centrally as you can  without any obstructions to the sensor. also try experimenting in different locations and see how you like its performance.

I love putting them under center counsoles. It seems to be the most accurate location for me to use.

i am not very familiar with this device. will it work if it is hidden under the console, or does it need to be out in the open?

Mount the sensor flat on the floor of the vehicle, under center console is fine. Dont turn up inner zone adjustment higher than outer zone, it'll false on you.
