Anyone has this problem on Viper791XV

Hey guys, does anyone have the Viper 791XV alarm, with both Prox Sensor and Shock Sensor, but only the prox sensor only works. Im confused why both of them dont work at the same time. I heard that it has to do something about the different inputs on the system like there are not enough or something, any ways around this? Please reply back!

Be sure that they are hooked up properly.

1) Use a seperate 12volt supply to power up the prox sensor, tie the blue and green wire from the prox sensor to the green wire from the shocksensor harness. I heard of problems when the prox and shock sensors use the same 12 volts!

do you have a wiring diagram or anything so i can give it to an installer. I went to a local installer, and they said that there a way to hook it up, like they have to add another box so more channels can go into the alarm, maybe cause all the channels are hooked up? But im not sure if they are trying to make more money off of me or something.

The viper 791xv is a 12 channel system. There is aboslutly no need fo extra channels. Both the shock sensor and the prox sensor have 2 wiring harnesses with the same color wires, Red, Black, Blue, and green. If you can see the harness that is plugged into the shock sensor the green wire is free (not connected), Twist the blue and green wires of the prox sensor together and tie them into the free green wire coming off of the shock sensor. The shock sensor harness plugs directly into the brain of the 791. Connect the red and black wires of the prox sensor to 12 V, red being (+) and Black being (-).

jaurora why is that that you have to hook it up that way? I've been doing it for awhile now, just matching the colors up. Yesterday I just did a viper 791xv like that and for the first time I actually looked at the instruction manual for the prox. and it said to do that ,Why? It been working just fine just matching up the colors. Anyways, one time I hooked up a dei prox. sensor to a black widow 2150 in a mitsubishi 6 wheeler truck one of thsoe half big rig commercial trucks. I ran like almost 20 feet  of wiring to the rear cargo hold, so that it can sense if the roll up door is opened . And it worked fine. That was my only solution since pin switch , mercury switch is out of the question, prox was the only way to go. I just dont know how well the prox would work if the cargo hold has hella cargo in it. But i do have the sensor mounter really high up. I'll try hooking it up the way dei says next time. But I still want to know wats the difference?

 The blue and green inputs on the module are set up for multiplexing, as are their sensors, making it very clean,and easy to do a shock and a Proximity.  There are alot of problems with false alarms when the (Vin) is tied together on 2 different sensors.
