Hi can any1 tell me how i can make my Piezo siren louder? i had a dual zone microwave sensor added on2 my alarm and needed a 2nd siren for the warn away. The wiring is fine and the dual zone sensors work but the chirp i get from the Piezo siren for the warn away is very very quiet. the Piezo siren is 115db loud but does not kick that sound out when triggered? Help

Im not sure why you needed to add a second siren for the prewarning chirps. Can you give some more information like the brand and model alarm you have? The piezo is probley close to 115db but the reason it dont sound like it is because of the frequency is very high. I cant think of a reason that you cant use the main siren you have already installed.

the alarm i have fitted is a Toad Pro cl sterling. When i bought the dual zone sensor i was told that the inner zone sensor would work off the original siren and the outer zone for the warn away  needed to have a 2nd siren. I was told that i could not not have both zones working off the same siren??? ( i dont know why) Hope this helps.

Ok im not sure how you got this thing hooked up but here is the way it seems "to me" it should be wired.

First it has power and ground: These wires need to be connected in a way so that when you arm the system it turns on the microwave sensor. The most common way this is done is using the negative when armed output or "starter kill output". You use this for the ground and the power wire gets 12v constant power. Next you should have 2 wires left the trigger zone "inner zone" and prewarn zone "outer zone". The trigger zone wire connects to a negative trigger input wire on your alarm (the reason i say negative is all dual zone microwave sensors i have ever used had this type of output). The negative input on your alarm can be the hood, trunk, or negative door input (if you use one of these inputs you need a 1amp diode with the stripe side toward the microwave sensor) most brand-name alarms have a input just for this and is the recomended way. Now for the prewarn output from the sensor (also should be negative). This wire sends a very short neg. single pulse when the outer zone is broken but not the inner zone. Because this is only one pulse you would only get one short chirp for your prewarn and thats just not fun. So i recomend and use the PAC TR-7 this is the most universal trigger module i have ever seen. Here is the sight with some info. its the second one down. You can have your sensors short prewarn pulse do just about anything you want. Just program this thing for your neg. trigger and what ever output you want. Then use the TR-7's output to trigger a SPST relay that turns around and triggers your siren. The relay is for two things 1st. the TR-7's output will not drive your siren alone it dont have enough current 2nd. it isolates the TR-7's input from the inverse voltage "back feed" when the alarm is sounding the siren. The same thing the diode is for on the trigger output. I hope this helps you out. If you need more help let me know what you got going on and i will try to help.
