Hi there.

I am going to be installing this car starter, the PS2704-2 on to my older Toyota Cressida winter car.  Through some research, what I have so far is the wiring diagram for car's harness which tells me what wire is for the ignition, accessory etc.

However, with this remote starter, there was no actual manual, or wiring description for the unit itself.  I have 4 harnesses that plug into the unit, with no description of the wires on each harness.  So I was wondering if someone could help me out with a diagram or something with a description of what wire does what, for the unit itself.

Basically I am looking for something along the lines of this, however for the PS2704-2 model:

Thanks in advance.

Here is a wiring diagram for the Autostart systems which is the same as the Polar Start, Pro Start, etc systems from Automobility. Check to see that this matches your unit:

iskidoo, thanks for the link.  I emailed all three, and one of them replied saying he will help me on wednesday when he is back in from vacation.

Velocity Motors, thanks for the link as well.  However, the wiring harnesses do not match the unit I have.  Also, the unit you linked to is also an alarm system.  The one I have is simply a remote starter, nothing more.

The systems from PS are all the same, just the remote controls are different. The wires will be the same, just that the alarm/remote start systems will have extra wires where the remote start systems will have blanks. The location and colors will be identical.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all your help. I got the system in and it works, power door locks and everything.

I have one small issue however.  Say I leave the switch for the heater on when i turn the car off.  If I use a key to start the car on again, the fan comes on when you hit acc when turning the key and when the car is on.  However, when I use the remote starter, the fan does not come on and the switches do not work.  The funny thing is the radio works both ways.  Any thoughts or input?

You need to hook up the Ignition and 2nd Ignition wires as well as the accessory wire. I'm guessing you missed the 2nd wire and it may be the cause of your problem. Use the green 2nd ignition output from the remote starter's 6 pin harness. Connect it to the BLACK/ red in the car's ignition harness. What year is the Cressida?

Ok the main harness for the ignition for the remote starter does not have a green wire.  It has the following:

Pin A: Red: 12 v battery constand 12 volts

Pin B:Yellow Ignition 12 volts during run and start

Pin C Violet Crank Starter 12 volts during start only

Pin D Orange ACC 12 volts during ACC only

Pin E Red 12 V battery constant 12 volts

so i have the 2 red 12 volts split off to 2 different constant 12 volt sources in the ignition harness right now.  The way i figured it out was, without a key in the car, i just used a meter, and found 2 different wires that were 12volts.

The key goes from off ->acc->on->start.  those are the 4 posns of the key.  so when the key is at acc everything usually comes on except the fan, the fan comes on at "on".  this doesnt happen with the remote starter, everything works except the fan, which doesnt come on at all.

I hope you guys can help, and let me know if you need some more clarifications?
