1993 Toyota Celica UK, alarm/remote start

I've just installed a Flacon Predator EVO4 alarm/immobiliser system into my 1993 Toyota Celica (UK model). Great so far. When i tested it all seemed to work as it should.
Then I closed the doors and tried again ... no central locking.
(I should say I've never done this before, but am not a stupid person!)
I used the wiring diagram I found at this site, and everything seemed to match OK. The wires from my unit which go to the lock/unlock wires in the car seem to work fine with the door open, but not at all when it's closed.
I hadn't connected a wire which is supposed to go to "Door Trigger Input", so, figuring that my problem was probably to do with something that happened when the doors closed (i.e. courtesy light goes out) I connected that to the Interior Light circuit RED / white wire as quoted on this site ... RED / white wire going up the driver's (US) pillar. I tried this with wiring for both positive and negative trigger ... no joy.
Am I missing something here?
What would cause my central locking fob button to work with the doors open but not when they're closed?
Any help will be most gratefully received!

Sure enough, I had the wrong wire hooked up. I needed to (-) trigger input. I also found that it was better deployed on the RED / white wire behind the driver's kick panel, on the door loom.

I have wires from the R.S. section of the "brain" that have to go to:
1. the coil (tach),
2. alternator, and
3. a relay.
So, a couple of questions.
a. Do I need to connect both the tach and alternator wires? I wondered whether one was enough for the brain to realise what's going on.
b. The relay connections. I need to connect my brain wire, the IGN2 wire (which I have identified) and "12V" to the other two terminals.
How should I connect the 12V wire? Do I take the "battery" wire (white in my car) from the ignition harness, cut it and run the two ends through the relay?

Not knowing the Name & Model of R S.............

a. Tach is usually better.
b. Constant 12 volts from Ignition Switch wires. ( where you are going to make other connections for your R S ? )

Right, thanks for that.
My system is a Falcon Predator EVO4.
The manual recommends tach ... I have connected that wire to the negative coil wire, as well as connecting the alternator wire. Is this necessary, or does it make a difference? (There's nothing in the manual that says if you connect one, don't connect the other).
The constant 12V I've taken to the relay straight from the ignition 12V wire. I just ran a wire from there without any cutting. Is this correct? i.e. the 12V ignition wire is still intact.
Now, the manual says connections at the relay should be 12V+ to terminals 86 and 87. Ign2 goes to terminal 30, and the control wire from the brain goes to terminal 85. These are all in place.
I also have connections from the brain to Ignition Start, Ignition Acc and Handbrake Switch.
As far as I can see, all these connections have been made.
Any suggestions as to why the system may not be working? The alarm, immobiliser and door locking all work, only the remote start doesn't. (it requires the car to be in neutral and handbrake one, which it is.)
One thing: I have a function to perform "RPM learning". The manual says that lights will flash for 2sec and then flash twice to indicate learning has been done. I get the 2secs OK, but then no flash twice. My tach wire is definitely connected to the (-) coil wire.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
