Hi,

I have a viper 550esp (remote start).  I was curious to know if there's an add-on to this module, so that I can have the 2-way feature?  You know, like the viper 790 xv, so that the remote will tell me when the car is running, or if there's an open door or something like that?

Thanks!

So this would be an add-on to my existing alarm?  Would I still use my remote, or would I use the remote from this module?  Do you have a picture of the remote?

Seen one of these before. The cool this is you can install pretty close to your current alarm and tap of it's wiring harness for the required connections. It's like a regular alarm with only 3 difference

  • turns on automatically when the IGN is turned off (timed sometimes)
  • no siren or light flashing functions
  • remote is recieve only. it 2-ways back to the car only to verify signal strength

Again basically you'd be installing an alarm that turned on my itself and that did not "alarm" or alert at the car location when it was going off. It would just notify the pager.

I installed one once but it kept tripping the alarm when it transmitted (perimeter sensor I think).

Seems kind of big, carrying around a pager :)

What do you mean by the remote is receive only?  Oh wait....I just typed that, and now I think I get it.  It's not like the new 2-way alarms, where the remote is also what you use to lock and unlock the car.  I get it.  I really just want to know when the car is remotely running.....hmmm.....

The pager is 2 ¼  X  1 ½  X  ¾ in dimensions and just piggybacks the existing alarm system.
