Hey all, great forums.   I have a compustar 3000 module in a 98 Subarru Legacy Outback, and it seems to work intermitently. The vehicle seems to arm when locked, but dosen't always siren chirp. Also when it is armed sometimes opening the door does not immediately set the siren off,it sometimes hesitates (as if struggling) and then will go off. I believe i can hear the relay clicking which makes me think it might be the siren. I have three thoughts, the siren, the siren output, or maybe a bad ground. A little confusing because it does not happen all the time. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. The system had been working fine for the last year and a half.

                        Thank-you in advance.

Locate and check ground wire on the siren. I have seen some grounded under the hood. Being exposed to the elements can corrode the contact. A simple removal and clean up can help fix the problem. If the problem still exists the check further into the install. Sometimes the simplest things can cause the biggest problems.
