PLEASE help me.
My wife has a 2005 PT cruiser without power locks. The dealer installed a KARR 2040 alarm. My wife had them install keyless entry on the front two doors only (the dealer wanted $300 a door for the back two.) So, when the installer installed the keyless on the front two doors, he said he left me leads to install keyless on the rear doors if I wanted to later on. He also gave me a module that he said I'd need.
So, the module he gave me has two connectors: a 5-wire and a smaller 3-wire. The five wire is purple, brown, white, blue, and green. The purple is 12V, the brown and white are Ground, and the blue/green go to the actuator.
The 3-wire are red, blue, and green. Looking at the front door installation as an example, the red is 12V, and the blue and green wires went to what I assume is the brain module. The brain has one really big connector and a small 2-wire connector. The 2-wire is red and green. The tech installing the front doors connected green to green and blue on the FD module to red on the brain. I did the same. The tech connected the red wire on the FD module to the purple wire on the 5-wire harness and connected this to a 12v constant wire under the dash.
I bought two accel actuators (#7037N) and installed them in the rear doors. They are 2-wire (blue and green) I connected them to the blue and green wires in the 5-wire harness on the module he gave me.
Soooo, the problem is that when I lock the doors, the front doors lock, and the rear doors unlock, and vice-versa. I'm reasonably confident that some wire(s) are reversed somewhere, but I checked and rechecked and they are exactly the same as the front set.
I'm sure this is a really simple mistake, and by this post I'm demonstrating how little I know about this crap, but my wife is counting on me to finish this, and she's getting pretty frustrated with me now. I suppose that's what I get for trying to help. No good deed goes unpunished I guess.
Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!
