I'm trying to install a ProStart remote starter (CT-3260) on a 2001 Hyundai Accent with a manual transmission. All functions of the remote start are working except the remote start. I'm have the exact problem as in this old post
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=49745&KW=prostart
The main exception is I HAVE bypassed the clutch switch, and it still won't start. It won't even start if I push in the clutch pedal manually. The ignition comes and park lights come on for about eight seconds, then the unit turns off and flashes the park light three times. I've rechecked the everything a hundred times, and am about ready to rip my hair out. The only wire I'm not 100% sure about is the tach wire. I've connected it directly to the tach wire going into the gauges as per a wiring diagram I found on the internet. It's the solid grey one if anyone is familiar with this car. Anyway, it will go in to "ready mode" and "idle mode", which the manual says it won't do if the tach wire hasn't been correctly connected and programmed so I have to assume it is.
HELP! Any Ideas?
Thanks!

Your tach wire is indeed wrong, you can use either the uncommon color at the injectors or the BROWN / red or BROWN / yellow wire at the coil pack on the top back of the motor, connect that way and reprogram tach and try again.

Thanks, I'll give that a try this weekend. I've also just noticed that there is no accessory power coming from the unit when it is in idle mode (engine running, no key)..... Could an incorrect tach wire have any bearing on this? I've only installed two other remote starts, but this one's been a real pain in the neck.
