I believe I have vaccuum locks on my Volvo, there is no switch.  The key activates lock in one direction and unlock in the other.  Also when the doors are closed the door lock knob on the drivers door controls all 5 doors lock and unlock.

Does the vaccum door lock diagram apply to my vehicle?  I have a 4-second programable pulse feature on my remote starter.

Is any one familiar with my vehicle, it is a 1989 Volvo 740 Turbo, if any one knows this vehicle some help with the remote door locks would be greatly apprecciated.  I  have not started the install yet and am just gathering some info to make the install go smoother.

Thanks

I just did one the other day. You have to add an actuator to the driver door. Dumb system. There is a plunger in the driver door and when pulled (lock using key) it triggers all the other doors actuators and vice versa.
Add an actuator to the driver door and all will be good.

How many wires are on the actuator? One for lock one for unlock plus a ground or does one wire trigger both directions of the actuator?

I just used a 2 wire aftermarket actuator that we sell at our shop. you will need 2 relays and the actuator. Good luck running a pair of wires through the door jamb too. I was cursing the car the whole time trying to run those wires. I was also cursing the car trying to fing a suitable location to mount the actuator and attach it to the lock pole.

So I guess I just use the Acuators/Reverse Polarity Diagram, thanks for your help.
