This one is probably easy for most on this forum, but new to me.
I have installed a Commando KE-30 KE and it works as expected EXCEPT I seem to have failed to correctly wire in the door locks. I am told that they are 5-wire alternating, and so wired two relays to provide +12V to the motor side of the pink/green - and pink / YELLOW set of wires. Now (and this may be important), I tapped these wires on the passenger kick panel. All that happens is that the car lights dim and my wires from the relays get sorta warm.
OK, so what am I doing wrong? Open for suggestions, all appreciated. Cmon, this should be easy for most of you guys -- first time for me, a rank amateur.

if your taurus has factory keyless then it is negative pulse (or if it has the keypad on the door), if it doesn't it is 5 wire

if it is 5 wire, you need two relays

pin 87 and 85 on one and pin 86 and 87 on the other to fused 12 volts

pin86 goes to the alarm brain unlock wire (-) on one, and pin 85 goes to the alarm brain lock wire (-)

pin 30 goes to motor side of the unlock wire, pin 30 goes to motor side of lock wire

pin 87A goes to switch side of unlock wire, pin 87A goes to switch side of lock wire

First, thank you for your reply.
OK, so let me get this straight -- I have already wired it exactly as you have said. I tapped the wiring harness on the PASSENGER side of the vehicle at the kick panel. There I broke the two wires (confirming the car's locking system no longer operates). I assumed the wire heading into the door is the SWITCH side, the wire heading down and toward the back of the car is the MOTOR side. After connections to relays factory locks work fine. Perhaps (hopefully) I am revealing my problems here. All that happens is that the relay(s) click, lights dim, and wires get hot. No joy on lock or unlock, however. Any thoughts gleaned from this info?
By the way, car has factory power locks, but no keypad.

Be sure you are using SPDT Relays ( Single Pole Double Throw )
If so:
Reverse ( swap ) your wires on PINS 30 & 87a

Am I correct in assuming that by using your solution (reversing 30 & 87a) I will be putting +12VDC on the switch leg?

That depends on how you verified the wires.

The problem you posted reflects either the wires are reversed or the wrong wires or the Vehicle may have came with Factory Keyless & should be wired as Negative Pulse.
Did you cut the wires and use the Driver Door Panel Switch to check Voltage on the Cut Wires to verify which is Motor Side & which is Switch Side?

Power LockPINK / YELLOWDRIVER KICK
Power UnlockPINK/LIGHT GREENPANEL *
* Without OEM Keyless Entry ...Reversal Rest At Ground Door Locks
With OEM Keyless ...Negative Pulse Door Locks.
It Is Common For Lock & Unlock Wire Colors To Reverse.

I will certainly re-verify the wires. I believe I have the right wires, as when I cut the pink/green the factory lock would not work; pink / YELLOW disabled the unlock. Remember I said these are on the Passenger kick panel -- if this makes a difference I need to know. It is not factory keyless, just factory power. I suspect your original wire-reversal call may be correct, but I will verify things before proceeding. I have this question: SHOULD I be applying the voltage to the switch side of the cut wire? Thanks for everything.
