Just got done installing a Crimestopper RS-999FM remote start on my '02 Silverado 3500.  Everything works great, except that when I press "Lock" on the Crimerstopper remote, the factory alarm does not re-arm.

I need to connect the orange wire from the 12 Pin harness on the Crimestopper to the appropriate wire in the truck, but where do I find this guy?

From information I found on this great board, it seems that the wire I'm looking for is located in the "passengers kick panel" and is a tan/black wire.

Exactly where is this wire?

Thanks!

The wires on the tech sheet that are labeled "lock motor," "unlock motor," and "disarm defeat" are meant for installing an aftermarket alarm that operates from the factory GM remotes-----often called a keyless upgrade alarm.  Anyway, forget about those, they don't do you any good.

There are only two ways (that I know of) to arm your factory alarm.  A.  Hit Lock on the factory remote.  B.  Open a door, press "power lock," and then close the door.

So, your two basic options are this:  A.  Open up a factory remote, solder wires to it, trigger the wires with a relay, and bury the whole thing under the dash.  Or B:  Get creative with timer relays and such---make a setup that will throw a ground to one of the door trigger wires, and then pulse the lock wire shortly thereafter.

So even though my remote start provides a positive pulse on a distinct wire for the purpose of arming the factory alarm, there is no place to connect this in a Silverado?

I might go the factory remote route for now and come back to the timer relay idea at a later time like if I will bother getting the dome light to come on with the unlock signal.

Thanks for the info Chris, at least now I can stop worrying about locating that wire.
