Is this normal?

I have 2 relays for my 5wire doorlocks. I was told in a different post that when checking continuity; pins 30 and 87a should always have continuity when not energized and 30 and 87 should when energized (or something to that effect).  

Point is that when I tested my starter kill (which works) relay, pins 30 & 87a had continuity when unenergized. But when I tested my 2 door relays (not quite installed yet) there is no continuity in 30 & 87a when unenergized- yet there is continuity between 87a & 87 when unenergized. In the SK relay there isn't continuity in those pins. Is it possible that both my door relays are blown? Is that what a blown relay would test like? Or is it possible that the whole interior is just switched around from maybe a factory error? (they do seem like rather flimsy relays compared to the SK relay). What do I risk by assuming that pin 30 & 87 are just switched around? Or, can anyone give me more detailed info on how to test a relay? Or what a dead relay tests like?
