Hi,

I want to add two mini piezo alarms to my Viper 791XV.  I would like to wire it into the backup battery so if the battery gets disconnected they'll still go off.  I already have the backup battery installed...Can I tap into this to power the piezo alarms? and how would I go about doing this?  And would the backup battery be enough to power the siren as well as two piezo alarms?  Or Can I add an additional back up battery to my alarm to power the piezo sirens?

Thanks for the help

If the back up battery is installed correctly the alarm should trigger when the battery is cut.  There is a wire (grey I think) that should be connected to an instant trigger on your alarm brain, such as the hood pin wire.  What this does is when the main power is lost the back up battery senses this and sends a pulse to the trigger on your alarm causing it to go off.  If you hook up your extra pizos to your siren out put they will go off as well, just be sure to use a relay for them and get the power for it off your back up battery, not the car's power.

After I think about it more, the wire color I believe is Blue not Grey, b/c it would connect to the blue instant trigger on the alarm.
