installed a "Ford RKE/VSS/RMST" made by Code Alarm on a 2006 Ford Escape - the install went fine but I am havinf problems disabeling the factory alarm - the doors lock and unlock with no problem and the remote start and features work great! But when you lock the doors with the new remote and unlock after 30 seconds or more and open the door, the factory alarm goes off?  If you unlock and open the doors in less then 30 seconds there is no problem or if after 30 seconds you unlock the door with both the factory and new remotes the alarm does no go off!  Any insight would be greatly appreciated  I used the following to install  http://www.gemsen.com/ford/Pdf/02-06_Gen_1_ITRM_Trucks_(8-29-05).pdf    then jump to 2006 vehicles, then Ford Escape, then RKE/VSS/RMST

Thanks!!!!!

The vehicle requires a - pulse to be sent to the dark blue/light green wire to disarm the factory alarm. Did you connect to this wire?

well I have tried and tried but no luck!!!  I just think this thing is ford junk!!!  I tried to grab the dk blue/green wire at the lt driver kickpanel, the kick panel next to the gas pedal and on the passenger side center console next to the fuse box and still the factory alarm blows after 20 sec.   I metered the connections and they show a (-) but the "Code alarm" Ford RMST unit is only giving me a quick negative pulse??? Could this be my issue?  Once again I followed the directions verbatim from http://www.gemsen.com/ford (under install man - 02to06 trucks then Ford Escape) ... any additional help would be greatly appriciated!!! Thanks!!!

The factory disarm wire should not be resting at ground. The factory disarm wire will show ground when you use the door key cylinder to unlock. A short pulse of ground to the correct wire should be plenty to disarm the factory wire. If you are confident you are on the correct wire to test it all you would have to do is use a jumper to ground, set off the factory alarm and tap the ground jumper to the wire. If the alarm turns off you are on the correct wire, if it does not you are not on the right one.

From the sound of it the module itself is working fine a quick pulse coming from the light GREEN/ black wire is all it's supposed to do. The OEM disarm wire as mentioned will show a ground when turning the key in the drivers door key cylinder. If using a normal test light, hitting the dark blue/green wire twice quick will unlock the doors which is another way to tell if you have the right wire.
