2003 Tahoe horn honk on arm?

Alright installed a Viper 791xv with 456g and 555l into a 2003 Tahoe z71. Used a glassbreak sensor, proximity sensor, the shock sensor that comes with it. The shock is on the port sensor output port, used the multiplexed wire for the proximity and glassbreak. Everything is hooked up and working find. Only problem I have is with the arming function.
When I arm it the horn honks. I called DEI to ask them and they told me that that is how it is. I was like how can I change it and they were of no service lol. They faxed me a diagram that uses the ground when armed output and the domelight supervision output and 2 relays to do nothing. It looks to me as if it wont work.
My idea is if I use a relay, use the ground when armed output as the trigger to interupt the horn wire by using pins 30 and 87a for the horn wire, then just not use 87, use 86 as +12v and 85 as the trigger(g.w.a.).
My question is will that work to make the horn stop honking? Thank you in advance!

Oh yeah, the horn does not honk when I arm is and the remote start is on, or if the car is running. So it is only doing it when the car /or brain see ignition.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Well, if you tie the gwa straight to a relay, the relay will stay on all night draining the battery---that wouldn't be the way to do it.
I'd be curious to see the diagram they sent you.
Maybe you could just use the light green, lock output from the 791 to a relay, to interrupt the Tahoe's horn wire while arming?
The standard, 1-second lock pulse might be enough to interrupt the horn at the right time, but if that won't work, it shouldn't do any harm to reprogram the locks for 3.5 seconds.

It's not the gwa, it's the relay. If 85 of the relay is connected to gwa, and 86 is connected to constant, the relay is energized whenever the alarm is armed.
I think the rule of thumb is that a relay's coil consumes 1/10th of an amp. I could be a little off about that, but I'm pretty sure I'm close.
When the car is driven every day, and the battery is relatively new, you'll get away with it.
When the battery is three or four years old and on its last legs already, AND/OR the car sits for a few days while you take off for the weekend, the battery will probably drain to the point where the car won't start.

Try this first. Open the driver's door and then arm the system. Close the door right away. If the horn doesn't honk, diode isolate the lock output wire. Use is to trigger the door lock module and the other side of the circuit to pulse the gray/black wire in the drivers door at the module. I had the same problem on some old remote starter modules. You can also check to see what the keyless feedback settings are set to with the steering wheel control buttons. Try turning the feedback from the keyless to OFF. Don't ever use a relay that is energized all the time. It will kill the battery overnight.
