I'm having problems programming this keyless entry system.  It works fine, but will not enter programming mode.  My remotes were already working (except for the panic button), so I tried to reprogram them.  However, when I do the on-off-on-off-on, it doesn't give me the light flashes.  I also cannot enter option programming mode by pressing the valet button five times after turning off the ignition.

The ignition-on 12v+ wire is connected correctly to the keyless entry brain (I checked with a multimeter).  This is also verified by the fact that the system will not lock/unlock when the car is running.

Any ideas or help?  Thanks in advance!

You should not be turning off the ignition after you press the valet button 5 times. Here are the instructions for this RKE:

CS-845 RKE PROGRAMMABLE OPTIONS

<>

To change programmable options:

1. Turn the Ignition ON wait about (1) second and press the Override/Program button 5 times.

2. The unit should flash the parking lights 8 times in quick succession.

3. Within the next few seconds, press the Override/Program button [again] the number of times that

corresponds to the feature list below. The LED (If installed) will flash for each button press. Do not lose

count!

4. When you get to the desired option number, press Button #1 or #2 (Lock, Unlock) button on a transmitter to

change the option. See the list below.

5. Change one option at a time repeating steps 1-5 above. When you are finished customizing options, check

operation to see if the option(s) have changed.

Oops, I meant to say "I also cannot enter option programming mode by pressing the valet button five times after turning on the ignition."

I was correctly following the instructions.

Maybe my keyless entry brain is defective?  I'll call Crimestopper tomorrow.  Does anyone know how good their tech support/warranty department is?
