a buddy of mine have 2000 accord ex - viper 550 esp with 555u(old model, w/ two wire instead of 3 not white) his remote starter been out for along time. the key in the module got erase or something. it doesnt read in the ignition no more. i replace with a new one it remote start. the key doesnt work in the ignition either.

what is the cause of this. if this happen once, would it happen again to my new key.

Is the bypass module only on when the remote starter is engaged or is it active all the time ? Make sure that the module is only activated during remote start and deactivated at all other times otherwise you will fry the chip in the key.
