We'll try to answer specific problems for you.  There are already basic overviews elsewhere on this site.

You'll have to post details of just what you're having trouble with.

I haven't done remote start on a Mustang, but if you find different colors at the ignition switch, that's okay-----if they're big thick wires, and you can clearly tell they're coming from the switch, and you've tested them, you should be safe to hook up to them.

Going from what you said:

Yellows:  If your alarm has two (or more) constant power wires, use both yellows for these.  If the alarm only has one wire, use one yellow wire.  (Also, I'm pretty sure the two yellows are going to bridge together a little further down the harness anyway.)

BLACK/ red:  you said it works in the On and the Start positions?  This is Ignition---hook your remote starter's Ignition output here.

red:  works on the On position only?  Then that wire should power up the heater-----hook your remote starter's Accessory wire to it.

pink/red is starter?  Put your remote starter's Starter output here.  If your unit also is an alarm system with a starter kill relay, you'll have to cut the Mustang's starter wire in half............make sure the remote starter's Starter wire is attached AFTER the kill relay....... on the "engine" side of the wire....... this way the remote starter will still work when the alarm is on.

BLACK/ green works only in the ACC position?  Then it most likely only powers the radio and power windows.  In my opinion, the radio SHOULDN'T work with the remote starter-------you don't want the radio coming on loud at six in the morning and bothering your neighbors.  So I'd just leave this wire alone......but of course that's up to you.

If you would like to have the radio come on with the remote start:  Attach your remote starter's Second Ignition output to the Mustang's red wire....... and attach its Accessory output to the Mustang's BLACK/ green wire.

hey i got a viper 550esp.i`m having trouble finding the tach wire.the remote start will not work and the tach wire is the only wire unhook.i was told that it is a tan / YELLOW wire on the diagn. plug. i have looked there but there is no tan / YELLOW wire there.i need a place to hook this up so the remote start will work.i tried a injector but that didnt work.and i tried on the back of the intsrment cluster that didnt work either.the car is a 93 ford mustang with a 2.3 eng.,please note that this car has NO DIST.just coil packs.it is the same eng. in a ranger.also i need to know how to program the tach signal.i might be doing something wrong.this is what i`m doing i start the car with the key then i push the valet switch.the led light doesnt come on.is this because of the tach wire not hook up?
