I recently received the RS1100 starter.  Installed no problem, truck fired right up.  Problem is the range is horrible.  Sometimes I can stand right next to my truck and it won't fire, sometimes I can walk about 50 ft. away and it fires.  Beyond 50 ft or so, nothing at all.  I've tried everything, remounting the meager 12 inch antenna, lengthening the antenna by splicing wire onto it.  Even the chin idea doesn't give me any further range.  And I don't think there's any radio interference in the area as a live in a fairly residential area and I've tried at several different locations.  I finally got ahold of their support (after 3 messages and 2 emails) and they told me of an adjustment screw inside the unit that I might need to play with.  Did so and I can see the difference, the difference is if you play with the adjustment screw it only gets worse.  I was just wondering if anybody has any suggestions.  This thing is supposed to be rated for 400 ft. but I've never been able to get it to work beyond 50 or 60.  Is there anything I could try or am I just out of luck?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you mount the antenna ? If it is on the windshield make sure that it is lower than the blue tint.

I have the same problem with a dodge intrepid, remember metal is the enemy of a weak signal, I added on to the antenna ran up to the rear view mirror and then down six inches below it, still at best I got maybe 100 ft. I'd throw it away and get something else!
