Is the 528 T needed or do they have a programmable delay for cranking a diesel engine? I had one installed on my truck today, but it was made in 04 I think. Shop told me they would order a "newer version" with programmable delay, and swap out the brain when it came in. Sound legit or are they just going to throw a pulse relay timer in? The manual indicates nothing about a delay.

They are correct, the older brains did not have a delay option and the newer ones do. As long as they are not trying to charge you an additional fee I would let them do it. The Pulse timer would work as well, but that would cost them more than just swapping out the brain and programming the feature on. This sounds like they are on the up and up.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Good to hear. He said he'd just swap it out no charge. There is also no temp sensor on the one today apparently. I didn't really not truct him, I just didn't know him. I'm a cop, I'm paid to question everything. Thanks!

I stand corrected on that, I just hit the right combo on the remote and it says 39 degrees.
