Hello everone,

I am having a problem with my viper remote start.  This problem most often occures after the truck sits for a period of time like overnight.  When you try to start the vehicle it will start and run for about 10 seconds and then shut down.  This occures 3 times and then the alarm times out.  The strange thing is that if you have been driving and turn the truck off it will restart on remote and have no problem.  Anyway when the local dealer installed the alarm he didnt install a tach generator or directly hook it up to the tach on the truck.  He told me that he hooked it to some other circuit.  I dont know what wire off the alarm is the tach and if this is the problem?  I also replaced the brain and upgraded it so it now has a start delay so I know that it isnt that.  Thanks for any help

Rich

The tach is a biach to get too on this truck. At the ECM on the bottom drivers side of the motor. Pin 24 at the front connector blue/gray.

DIESEL TACH SIGNAL Dk.blue/gray On C1 plug at ECM   AC
The ECM is located on the lower driver's side of the engine. The C1 connector is the plug closest to the radiator.

This is why it's most likely set for voltage sence. The start delay for the glow plugs needs to be around 30 seconds.
