I bought a 1998 acura integra gsr (manual)that previously had a compustar 2wss system installed, but the brain and remote is missing. From what I have read on this site I could get a CM3000 (without the jumper cut) and plug it in, program a 2wss-r remote and it should work. Is there any programming of the brain that needs to be done if I buy a brain from a non-authorized dealer? I know that there will not be a warranty if I do this. I just wanted to make sure before I buy anything and waste my money.

well first of all. you need to determin weather if the gsr had a alarm and a remote starter on it. if it was just a starter us a cm-4200. for alarm cm-3300 for alarm and staret use a cm3000. then you can purchase the remote IF you still have the antenna (on the windshield ant-ss) and it should program. You can also use a 2W900FMR and antenna because of compustars modular design. word

Thanks! I know the car had an alarm and remote start, so I would be looking at picking up a cm3000. I do still have the antenna in the window (2wss-r on the sticker).
So there isn't actually any programming of the brain that would need to be done?

nah. just make sure you get a manual brain. If it has a loop. make sure its in tacted.  theres no programming for the brain except for to learn tach. Start the car with the key. and when the car is at IDLE press the black button on the brain. it should click/ beep once. And then your good to go. word
