Model: Protege
Make: Mazda
Installed power trunk kit and would like to to use existing remote to pop trunk from outside vehicle. How can I set this so I can press and hold unlock button three seconds to the power trunk relay and pop the trunk.
Basically I would like to set it up so one press unlocks drivers door, two press unlocks all doors and one steady press of 3 seconds pops the trunk.
Thank you in advance for your information

it would be hard to achieve what your are tryin to do. This is because a relay can only be triggered with a SINGLE burst of power that will energize the relay. If you wire it up and clicked 3 times, the trunk release kit will just click 3 times. Do you have a factory keyless or an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry? if it is factory, no real way, but aftermarket it is possible.

it is indeed a factory keyless entry. If it's impossible to do, I think I will cut the unlock all and attach it to unlock driver door that way one button press would unlock all doors. Then attach the power trunk to the now empty unlock all that way two button press would pop the trunk. How does that sound? One press unlock all, two press pop trunk.

the car has something called driver priority unlock. There will be 2 - 4 realys. Relay 1 opens drivers door and Relay 2 could control all other doors or maybe one for each. This will require you to cut the all door unlock and attach it to a relay that will unlock doors on one press and lock on all with one press. Its a large task.
