Hello i am trying to install a relay on a 2002 chevrolet cavalier. I want the new driving lights that i just put on the car to turn on with the high beam switch when i switch to the highbeams. The problem is the switch is on a grounding circuit and they come on with the DRL's. Please help me out on how to wire this in here is a schematic of the lights. relay lighting issue -- posted image.

How are your driving lights wired up?

i removed it for the time being due to them staying on with the DRL's. I need to know how to wire it up for they do not come on. Any ideas?

Not too sure of that diagram - what selects hi or low, and it seems like the DRL can be either hi or lo (sorry - it must be past my bed time!)
Normally one would duplicate/parallel the exiting relays - eg,if the hi-beams or their solenoids are hot connected (to +12V) then the hi-beam switch (or their relay solenoids) earths them - use the hi-beam switch to earth you new hot solenoid/s.
(The hot to the the new solenoid/s can go through an on-off switch to enable/disable. Or so too could the solenoid's earth - thru a switch to hi-beam switch earths.)
You chose whether the relay supplies +12V or earths the "hot" additional lights.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
