Which brand of relays do you use?

What is the difference between a "Bosch" relay and a "Bosch type". only thing i see a price difference. Kyle

Generaly speaking, the Bosch relay(s) are standard relays used in many automotive applications, and are based on the accepted 5 pin standard which all makers adhere to for compatitbility. There are many excellent makers of relays, Bosch happens to be one of the most used, and is also well known for consistant performance and reliabiltity. Bosch relays are based on MFR (mean failure rate) of 10 years. That equates to 1000's of on-off cycles, without failure. You get what you pay for . . . Regardless of what brand you decide to buy. The primary thing that affects the life of a relay is the proper selection of a relay with the appropiate current rating. Contact arching is the one of the prime killers of relays. The three brands I use are Bosch, P&B, and Midtex when a internal shunting diode is required in the circuit. For all my personal installations I use the Midtex relay to prevent any CEMF posing any chance of trouble for any inline circuits which are attatched. The Bosch relays can be had very cheaply on-line for $0.99 per relay. So I dont see how you could fault them for being more expensive. Regards EVIL Teken . . .

Were do you find Bosch relays for $.99, the cheapest i found them is $1.99, at partexpress. Kyle
