I'm trying to find help in installing upgrading my stereo on my 1972 Caddy. The issue I have is there is only one wire going to each of the existing 6x9's that I am replacing. Are the positive only and chassis grounded or something? Will I have to run new wiring for new 6x9's or could I somehow use these existing wires.
Thank you for any reply

Yes you will have to run new wires to each of your speakers.

Negs were grounded, yoyu will have to run new wires it's probably safer with a car of that age.
