98 expedition short

 hi im a new member to the forums and i been installing for roughly 18 years or so. my question is im looking at a 98 expedition tomorrow that keeps poping the 5 amp fuse that is for the gear shift solinoid, power windows, and intrior lights.. just trying to get a jump start on it looking up a few things or wondering if anybody has had that problem and how was it solved.

nothing i have to trouble shoot it just wondering if anyone else had simular problems

I'm afraid its old school, take each every output wire away from the fusebox, replace the fuse then add one at at time until the fuse blows. By the way, gear shift solenoid, int lights and power windows on 5amps?  Really?  The solenoid will draw 10amps, about 1 amp per interior light and 25 amps per pair of windows. Think it through. It probably only let's the windows work when key is removed and the doors are open, old Mercedes trick, energised a relay to feed the windows.
