1998 Honda Prelude

Hi!

I found your site through another site dealing with the 5th generation Honda prelude.  In specific, the site talked about how to install a 2001 accord trunk popper into the prelude. (This would allow the prelude's trunk to be opened with the keyless entry remote.)

The only thing not include there is what wire to connect the solenoid to.  (At the very bottom it briefly discusses electrical aspects.)

Is there any information that you have that can help me?

This topic was brought up once before in the previous forum that we had and the person that I tried to help ended up not doing this because there was no output wire for the trunk release solenoid coming from his keyless entry unit. You will have to find out if your keyless entry module has a trunk release option on it. I think that we found that the wire coming from the keyless entry module was a blue one or a black wire ( ???? ) check for wire verification on this by using a DMM and activate the trunk release from the OEM remote and if the target wire registers a ( + ) or a ( - ) signal then you have the right wire.

Thanks for your help.  In fact, the stock 1997-2001 Honda Prelude alarm/keyless entry system doesn't have an output for the trunk solenoid.  What the person who posted the above website did, and what I was planning on doing, was run a cable from the trunk along with the manual release cord, and wire it to the option key output on the alarm control box. 

What is a DMM?  I have a multimeter I was going to use to do most of my testing.

I was also hoping someone might have a source document on the stock alarm, but maybe it's not available.

Thanks!  I appreciate you taking the time to do that.  I unfortunately don't know any Honda guys myself, but I may start getting to know them. (I've had my Prelude in 4 times already for trunk noises and will be in there tomorrow again. :( )
