Does anyone know if the 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T have a factory amp? What's the location if it has one.

If it has, it will be behind the glove box and extremely hard to get at.

Howie is only telling you half of the story.  Extremely may be an understatement.

It is hard to get to.  I was just giving Howie a hard time.  I think it is mounted to the side wall of the truck, at the glove compartment.  I just did not want you to go into the job unprepared for a little bit of a fight on your hands.

Isn't it easier to use an aftermarket adapter lead, Scosche, Metra etc.?
Even here where these vehicles are as rear as rocking horse doodie, you can buy 2 or 3 different interface leads.
