What are type A doorlocks?I have a 1997 grand am. the door lock switch woked before I hooked up the remote start power locks. Now they only work with the remote start remote and the switches dont work.I hear the factory relays clicking when I toggle the factory switches but the doors dont lock or unlock.I wired  the negative outputs from the remote start to relays to prvide a positive trigger to the locks. Are they reverse polarity locks? Any help would be appreciated.

Need more info if you want help. You say there are working, are they working properly with the Remote start?
  • Brand and Model of Remote
  • How you Wired it?
If you seacrh for Type A locks (reversing), you can get more info on you Lock Type. If you cut the wires to install the relays do you have the relays wired right. 87a is the NC(normally closed) 87 is the NO(normally open). So the factory output still goes to the motor when no output from the Remote start.
Power Lock blue   + drivers kick panel
Power Unlock white   + drivers kick panel
This is a Positive Output.
  • IE
  • 30 to lock motor
  • 87a from switch(If you didn't cut the factory wires leave this blank and just tap into the wires)
  • 87 +12v (same source as 86)
  • 86 +12v
  • 85 (-) from Remote Start
