Newbie here looking for some information on installing a car starter in a 1999 Eddie Expdition with a factory alarm system and a chipped key...Is there any tricks or trouble I’m going to run into before I rip my truck apart?  I have a feeling there is going to be a issue with alarm..and the by-pass.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!!

Heres some info for the 99 explorer

second ignition - gray / YELLOW - ignition harness (theres two, the correct one powers the Heat/ac)

starter - RED / light blue - ignition harness

accessory - BLACK/ light green - ignition switch harness

dome lights - BLACK/ light blue(+) -drivers kick panel

trunk pin - same as dome

parking lights - WHITE/ black(+) - at headlight switch

lock - pink / YELLOW - 10 pin connector in passenger Kick panel

unlock - pink/light green - 10 pin connector in passenger Kick panel

trunk pop - pink/light green(-) - at liftgate switch

OEM Horn - yellow/light green(-) - steering column harness

headlights - RED / yellow(+) - at headlight switch

OEM alarm arm - n/a

OEM alarm Disarm - dark GREEN/ violet(-) - driver kick panel

Tach Wire - Tan / YELLOW - pin 48 in 84 pin connector on PCM, located on passenger side back of engine, mounted on firewall

brake light - light green(+) - at pedal

rear window defrost - dark blue/orange(-) - rear window defoger switch

You will need to use an immobilizer ignition module to pass the factory security, this is a part which tells the ignition that the factory key is in the ignition, this is a box that is mounted under dash and will have to contain a key you must purchase from the dealership or use a spare key for the vehicle. This module is DEI part number 555U but a number of companies make it. Just ask an install bay and they can definately get it for you. Good Luck and have fun.
