2002 dodge ram going nuts

I have a2002 dodge 1500 quad cab that its going off like a alarm at random. I believe it is the facrory panic or alarm I have looked everywhere on this thing for a aftermarket alarm but have found nothing. The truck is afriends truck and she took it to the dealer they came back with a 2500.00 repair estimate and told her it would be best to get rid of the truck. I'm wondering if I might be able to ground the factory disarm wire and see what that does for it. But I need a location for it so I can try it does anyone have the scematic for it or has anyone removed the module with any luck? she wants to put a aftermarket alarm/remote start on the truck but she wants this cleared up first.

Why would the dealership tell her that it would cost $ 2500 and then tell her to sell the truck ? I know it's a Dodge, but even an 02' is worth more than the cost of the repair bill. Does the horn honk and lights flash when the alarm sounds ? or is it an actual siren that sounds ?Jeff

I dont know I found that a little crazy myself. They offered her a trade in amount right there on the spot they are probably trying to unload their 07's or something of course the trade in reflected the problem with the truck they offered her $3,400.00 as it sat. The factory horns and the lights go off. They also sound off everytime you start the truck as well but never had a problem with with the actual starting of the truck(l.e. some sort of starter disable etc.)
