Hey all..

Bought two of these monitors, was initially very impressed.  Video qualitiy was more than acceptable, until about ten minutes of use.  After that, qualitiy started to degrade.  It could be corrected marginally by tinkering with brightness, contrast and hue, but only for about 5 minutes and then qualitiy totally gone. After 20 minutes (approx.) the monitors would just shut down totally.  If you let them sit for a while, you can start the whole game over again. (looks great! maybe I was just seeing things? no... wait... here we go again!)

I thought maybe voltage?  Went to Radioshack and picked up a deal that allows selectable voltage between 6 and 24 volts.  Ran as high as 15 volts and as low as 10.  Seemed to have better results with 10 volts, but they would not function at 9.  Anything higher than 10 volts gets you totally screwed picture again.

Anyone have any thoughts at all?  If I could keep the qualitiy I have for the first 10 mins I would be sailin!

At first I grabbed power and ground off of the inverter running the dvd and n64, then just ran them off of the cigarette lighter thing I bought at radioshack.  Not good?  I'm gonna try grounding direct to the battery tonight, let you know how it goes.  Ya, my thought is poor ground....

ok, so grabbed power and ground direct from the battery.  Ran the Dvd off an extention cord to the house.  RCA input for sound and video direct to the DVD player, with no splicing or "y" adapters or anything.  Same problem.  BUT! as an experiment, held the monitor on the air conditioning vent  with the air on full blast, and the picture straightened itself out.  So, they're overheating for some reason.  Any ideas?

That's very strange. If both monitors are doing this, I would bring them back to the dealer and get warranty for them & see if the new ones do the same thing.
