hey, what sup guys

Well I installed my indash dvd system about a week ago, I gots to give much props to the peeps that help me answer my questions here at 12volts...

now I actually have a problem with my battery.... it seems like after the installation of the system my battery drained badly, I have had to get my car jumpstarted like 5 times already.....Could it be that I made some bad connections or is it that theres too many stuff hooked up and the battery cant it. This is what I have that needs power (dvd receiver, dvd unit, 200 watts amp, a 12inch 500 watt woofer, and four 6 1/2 speakers"front and rear,)

I do think that I am taking too much electricity from the battery plus I belive that it is a old battery...... would it be better to just get a capacitator???????

Just so you know, a capacitor will not help, as it is dependent on the battery. How big is your alternator? I currently have a dvd reciever, 3 tv's, and 2 amps (around 1000 watts RMS total) that need power (from stock electrical system), and the only times my car has ever died is when I have stuff playing for a long period of time while the engine is off. If you are doing that, that is probably the cause.

Take a multimeter and test all the remote turn on leads of the system. If there is voltage present at any of these connections, then you have a wire crossed somewhere or you wired a constant wire to the remote turnon lead somewhere. Trace back all your wires and see where the wire is constant and then hook it up to a switched ignition instead.
