Ok, Ive done a couple of these now and I'm getting the install time down pretty good, however I am not mounting directly to a roof beam. I'm simply mounting the system to wood strips that are like 1/4"x3"x13" to disperse the weight on the headliner. It doesn't sag at all and even when driving over bumps it doesn't shake too much, but I'm still worried if this is good enough? I've heard of people doing this with overhead lcd's, but not all-in-one systems. Has anyone else done this? Either I will start useing the factory roof mounted tab to support more of the weight or I will have to find some way to mount the boards directly to the roof. I've also heard of some kind of super stromg adhesive to mount wood to roof then dvd to wood. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I put a piece of wood up there and secure that to the headliner. Then use a metal strap and connect the wood to the metal support that the push clip goes into near the front. You could do the same with the back and go to the rear push clip if you wanted. On that particular vehicle it seems to support the all-in-ones fine without going too crazy.. I use 3/4" mdf in that vehicle as well.

I work for one of the oldest audio manufacturing companies out there and our all in one console systems mount using 1/8" steel that you make the size of the rail space width plus 11/4" wider and you just slide under rail on one side and then slide over and under the other rail(between the headlinder and rail) and then attach the unit for a secure and safe install. "note" Wires need to be watched when running them to the sied for the side curtain air-bags . run them over and not under !!!!!
