VSS for 1989 Cavalier

Hi, i just bought the new pioneer avic-n2 for my 1989 cavalier z24 and i cant find the VSS wire for the navigation unit can anyone help me or point me in the right direction to find this wire. Thanks Justin

I can't find any info for anything older than 92.
I wouldn't be surprised if you had a mechanical speedo in that thing.

Is there a cruise control on that car? If so, look for it at the cc module under the hood.
It can be done but how much are you willing to pay?

Hi, yes the car does have cruse control.. but it does not work it hasn't worked since i bought the car i am not sure whats wrong with it i haven't looked into it yet. Can u still help me? Thanks Justin

You're gonna have to check all the wires @ the cc module. One of them should test as the VSS wire. To make it easier to test, put jack stands on all 4 points under the car & put the car in 1st gear. If you're unsure of what you're looking for or don't feel comfortable doing this then take it to a reputable shop. It's not adviseable to incur unneccessary damages to yourself or otherwise. Hi, yes i have found the VSS wire and i tested both of them but it still says the function is not avalible do i have to have the car running or the wheels turning to show up? i also have 2 VSS wires a High and a Low VSS and i also have a wire that goes to the speedometer which one do you think would be the best? thanks Justin
