I am installing a cheap 5" emmerson LCD screen into my 1993 Lexus ES 300, with the ultimate goal of adding a power converter and a playstation 2. I have the TV mounted just before the sunroof, with the main cable running through the roof and into a "brain-box" in the trunk. the brain box has a 4-pin wiring harness which is missing, so I rigged one that appears to be just fine. The four pins are labeled as "ACC", "Ground", "Battery", and "Remote out". So far, I figure the "remote out" goes to the speakers, the "battery", either to the battery or a 12v power source, and the "Ground" to a ground." My question is this: can I use the existing CD-changer in the trunk for all of these (...can i tap into the Power/Ground/speaker wires the CD changer uses? also, where should I connect the "ACC" wire...a friend of mine who recently installed a similar TV into a Harley Truck mentioned something about connceting the "ACC" wire to the wire which connects to the battery...should I do this, and if so, why?
~~Any help is greatly appreciated

For starters the battery goes to constant power the acc goes to a switched source of power the ground goes to ground.  The remote wire is simply going to supply power to something else when the monitor turns on.  DO NOT CONNECT THE REMOTE WIRE TO YOUR SPEAKERS unless you want to buy a new deck.  You still need something like a fm modulator to supply sound to the system if the radio does not have audio inputs.  If you put the acc wire to to the battery wire the monitor will be on all of the time.  To the changer part it depends if it has actual wires running to it.  Most have a din cable which you shouldn't splice into unless you know what you are doing.

Ok...so I removed the dash (with much difficulty). The factory tape/radio/changer-control does not seem to have any audio intput area. the CD changer which is so thoughtfully located in the trunk (whose idea was that?) has two wiring harnesses plugged into it, each conataining a bundle of wires. I also noticed that the factory amp appears to be located under the passenger seat, and I have located Power, ground, remote, and speaker wires running into it (assuming the colors match up to what they're suposed to!). Can I tap into the Power/ Ground/Accesory wires located there? I spoke with my friend again and he said that I would want the TV to run always so it does'nt reset every time I turn off the car. And as for remote...what should I do with the remote wire?? As I said above, I do not see any audio inputs...what is an "FM Modulator" and how do I go about purchasing/Installing one?
Thank you very much for your time

If you are using the emerson flip out tv/head unit then you would still hook up the yellow to constant and the red to acc/ign.  The radio keeps its memory when you shut it off if you hook the yellow to a constant +12 v.  Also if it is the head unit/ tv is what you are installing you might want to look into rewiring the amp.  It has been a while since I even thouched that peice but as far as I remember it has both audio and video inputs.  If it is just a stand alone screen then the same applies for memory, if you hook the yellow to constant +12v it too will keep memory.  As to the fm modulator it is a device that broadcasts an audio signal over a radio signal such as 88.3 fm.  It should have a pair of rca inputs for what ever you want to hook up to it.  This peice is pretty straight forward for install.  Just hook it up to the acc/ign wires and thenplug in the rca and then it will play through the radio.
