I seen a 2005 gmc yukon with one 8inch flip down nesa tv and a farenheit dvd that the audio and video rca's were cut. The white outer shield wires on the rca's were grounded.Does this eliminate alternator whine for the audio, and the lines on the tv?It's something new I have never seen till today. I have a friend with the same set up in a 97 isuzu trooper and the tv had a lot of lines coming from the top to the bottom of the screen when the vehicle was on and running. I installed a relay to turn on both the tv and dvd at the steering column and it cured the problem but there is still some lines but not like before.The set up on the gmc can this eliminate the lines on the tv that appear when the car is running?thank you.

< language=>You problem with the lines on the TV is most likely a bad ground. I had the same problem on a Headrest TV, disconnected that ground and moved it to another location where the metal of the car was better exposed and grounded it there. Solved the problem.

I grounded the units from the negative battery post. I don't want to use no filters or video amplifier there has to be a better way of eliminating those lines. It was much worse but I ended up adding a relay to power up the units and it helped but there is still some annoying lines especially when you accelerate.

Like the man said, it's bad grounds or bad video RCA cables. Make sure your cables are shielded 75-ohm video cables, not audio cables. Attach all grounds to bare metal on the chassis of the car. Make sure your source unit is properly grounded as well: don't use the car's OEM ground in the wiring harness. It could also be bad grounds in the engine compartment or even a problem in your ignition system.
