quick hopefully simple question.

long story short when replacing a speaker in the door of my 95 altima i screwed up the switch and pulled a wire off the switch. putt the wire back on the switch but the window will not work, it will move up but not down. also the master control switch on driver side will not operate the front passenger window up or down but all the other windows work just fine.  shouldn't the master control work even if the passenger switch is not connected?

i am an idiot

Most vehicles will not work with the drivers door switch if the switch mounted on the door in question is removed.

AQnd probably impossible to check because the master switch to slaves are probably data. You need to see via DMM checking what happens by popping switch and wiring from another passenger door; although if you correctly replace the wire, I'm thinking break somewhere.  Also as Mr. Idiot correctly states the master to passenger set-up is effectively in series.  Also check your fuses.

Thanks guys, got her all figured out. the passanger switch does indeed need to be installed for the master to be installed, so it must be in series.
