Hi everyone, I'm trying to install the alarm+remote Starter combo, and I'm running into the trouble of looking for the right wire to connect, I'm clueless on the location of the wires. Can I have some help on the location of the wires below ? Thanks first for your help. In the manual they did not say it clearly though. My car is a 1990 300zx n/a auto.

1. Neutral or Park wire ?

2. Brake light wire (the paper said it is above the brake pedal, but couldn't find it anywhere) ?
3. Hood input wire (used to diable the starter if the hood is open) ?
4. Tachometer wire ?
5. Generator wire ?
6. Door pin wire ?
Thanks again

#1 im unshure

#2 there is a little box with wires comming from it at the very top of the brake pedal shaft, it senses movement of the pedal.

#3 you should have gotten a "hood pin switch" it shoud be about 3 inches long with threads on it, you drill a hole or find a hole on the body around the engine compartment, so that when you close the hood, the switch gets pushed down.  At the bottom of the pin switch there should be a place for a connector, that is where you put the "hood input wire".

#4 you will find that at the tach, follow all the spark plug cables back to the distributor, and then find the 1 spark plug wire that doesn't go to a spark plug, but goes to a box with wires comming out of it, that would be your coil.  Probe the wire it should be, and the engine should stumble "while its running".

#5, i have never heard of that before, possibly a 12v power source?

#6 find the pin the gets pushed in when you close your door, pull out the switch, and find the wire you need, on the drivers door there should be 3, 1 for the door chime, 1 for the dome light, and the other im unshure of.

good luck

1.) that's the wire that needs to "see" ground in order to remote start.

2) try looking in the kick panel for the brake wire. it has to run from the switch to the back for the brake lights, right?  or try at the fuse box.(it is RED / black)

3)most hood input wires need to see ground to prevent car from remote starting. i suggest using a mecury tilt switch b/c it won't rust and is maitenance free. or use the factory pinswitch. located at the engine compartment/driver side/ near shock tower. or, inside car, the wire can be found at the  factory anti-theft module located under the carpeting on the passenger side and should be ORANGE / blue.

4)the tach wire is located behind the driver's side headlight in a single test connector (gray) and the wire should be yellow/red.

5)the generator wire? sounds like that is for older cars where the regulator was separate from the alternator. i don't think you'll need that wire for remote starting of your 300Z. by the way........what brand remote starter are you installing?

6)the door trigger/pin is blue at the anti-theft module(under passenger carpet) or you can go to the interior light which is RED / white.

i still remember my first one like it was yesterday. door actuator/pager/motion sensor(for the t-tops) integrating factory alarm arm/disarm w/the alarm/remote start combo. i think there was a second starter wire as well. you will have to fire that up as well for the remote start b/c it is for "cold crank".

good luck.really need help install remote starter -- posted image.

in addition to what has been said above, the neutral wire will most likely be found at your car's ecu (or computer)....is there a reason for placing the tach wire connection in the hood? isn't there the chance that it's right behind the dash gauges? goodluck man.
