Jeff helped me out on the last question I had about the door locks, and now they work fine.  The only problem I have is the Avistart 4501 I have installed in the car needs a 1-5 VAC signal for the tach feedback, and the tach wire listed for the car here https://www.the12volt.com/wireinfo/volt.asp?Year=2000&Make=Chrysler&Model=Cirrus&Table=Security, puts out about 0.6 VAC at idle up to about 1 VAC at 3000 RPM.  Anybody know of an alternative way to get a useable signal at 1-5 VAC at idle?

thanks

What color and location did you grab the tach signal from ? You should have gotten the BLACK/ GRAY wire at the coil for the tach input . For a  6 cylinder signal on the V-6, 2 cylinder signal on the 4 cylinder engine.  If BLACK/ gray on V6 causes starter to drag, use any one of the fuel injection wires at injectors at front of engine and set to one cylinder. The injector wire will be the one that IS NOT dk.GREEN/ orange.

Thanks a lot Jeff,  you have been very helpful.  Yes, it is a BLACK/ Grey wire right off the coil.  The starter does drag, so I will have to try the injector wire, although I am afraid it will see even less voltage that way.  The unit does not have any provisions for setting the number of cylinders, it only monitors the AC voltage (from what I gather, anyway).

Hey Dave;

That's OK.....the unit is an auto learning unit so the cylinder signal from a single cylinder is going to be better than that of a 8 cylinder signal. Most of the time when I can not get a clean signal from the tach wire I go straight to an injector and works every time.

Thanks again Jeff,  the injector wire works fine.  Now I have some other issues to work out, but it is in the wiring.
