I am trying to install a 12V DC accessory socket device in the trunk of my 2003 3.2 TL Type S so that I can charge camcorders and cameras etc.. while they are securely locked in the trunk.  Are there either ignition switched 12V DC wires or constantly powered 12V DC wires accessible in the trunk for use in this project?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not really. You have to create one.
Depending on how much current you need to use I can point you out to a few area. However, unless you are pretty comfortable with electricity and taking the car apart I don't think I should make my suggestions. Anyways, the best way to get all the power that you need is go directly to the battery. Run a 12 gauge power wire just like running an amp and run it from the battery to trunk. Make sure you used a fuse.

Thanks for the reply.  I am fairly comfortable working with electrical installations having installed CCTV and alarm systems in homes.  I have also installed mobile amateur radio equipment.  One of my best friends is an electrical contractor (and radio nut).  So I can get help with the project if needed.  What I lack is specific information about the Acura TL's electrical system and its wiring.  Would you please let me know what is already available in the trunk and what current it would support?  Your point about running a fused larger guage wire directly to the battery is well taken and sounds like the best case solution.  I am wondering if something less involved (and unfortunately less capable) could be worked out with my car.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK Justin,
In this case you can get the + 12V constant at the ignition harness. The wire is a WHITE 12-14 gauge fairly big wire slightly bigger than all the rest of the wire in the car. It can support 20 amps, but I hope you are not running anything close to that or else you will have a dead battery when you trying to start your car. What you also want to do is run a relay so that the charger will work only when the car is off as to not interfere and compromise any current draw from the cam corder charger when the car is operating.
