I am installing an escort radar detector into my 2005 Buick Rainier, and I want the power to be switched along with the other accessories (radio, etc) so that when I turn the ignition off, it shuts down.   The escort came with a simple wiring kit  ( power and ground) but I'm not sure how to locate a switched wire.   What is the correct method to accomplish this?  I tried going direct to the inside fuse box, but the connection is not switched.

Thanks for your help

Check at the ignition harness under the steering column. That is the only place you will find an ignition source. Everything is turned on and off by the Class II data bus.
