I don't want to sound like a jerk to some members but I have seen this too many times and I think it is very rude. If you decide that you need to post something on another member's post that doesn't relate to the originators topic, PLEASE THINK AGAIN. I don't think that it is very good etiquette and it's not fair to the original member that posted a topic.

If you have an issue that needs to be resolved from another member please post a NEW topic and it will probably have more views on it with the proper heading than if it was in someone else's topic with a totally different heading.

Hi Jeff, when you spot these, please point them out to me. I can either move them to the appropriate forum or topic, or simply delete them. It's in everyone's best interest to do as you have suggested as well as following the guide lines below. It makes finding answers quicker and easier for everyone.

  • Research your Post! Make sure you are not double posting, search the forums first. Many questions have already been answered several times.
  • Post in the Correct Forum. When you post, make sure you do so in the correct forum. Example: If you have an alarm question, please do not post it in the Car Audio forum. Posts made in the incorrect forum are often ignored by those that can help you the most and may be deleted without notice.
  • Be Descriptive and Specific. Use a descriptive topic subject and be as specific as possible in your message. Providing more information makes it easier to help you. This will also make searching for similar topics and problems quicker and easier for all members. Try to include year, make and model of vehicle, any relevant model numbers, and the nature of your problem or project in detail.
  • Include Images. A picture is worth a thousand words. In many cases your problem can often be solved much faster if you include a diagram or picture. Although it isn't necessary to include any, it can be extremely helpful, especially if you are having problems wiring unique relay set-ups, multiple motors, alarms, remote starts, etc. If you have the wiring diagram of your product or project, please include it. Again, the more information you provide, the easier it will be to help you. (Please limit images to 600 pixels wide.)
  • Kill the CAPS! Typing in all caps is considered shouting. Please don't shout at everyone. If you type in all caps, chances are your posts will be ignored by the people that can help you the most. Messages and Topics typed in all caps may be deleted without notice.
  • Vehicle Information. Before you make a request for vehicle information for 2000 and earlier vehicles, please check our Vehicle Information Database. Often the information you want is waiting for you there.
  • Do Not Post YourTopic Twice! Please do not post your topic in multiple forums. Duplicate topics will be deleted.
  • Malicious Code Any member that causes script errors by entering any type of code in a message post will be banned.
  • No Spam! All spam will be deleted. All spammers will be banned.
  • All forum posts may be reformatted without notice.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
